For each of 250 named reactions, a two-page layout includes an introduction summarizing the use and importance of the reaction; a general scheme of the reaction and a detailed mechanism; three or four recent synthetic applications, and bibliographical references. The appendix includes tables of reaction categories, affected functional groups, and preparation of functional groups.
