What is Historical Theology?

Historical theology considers the emergence and development of particular doctrines, theological discussions, and faith-practices. It considers persons, their social conditions and significant events that shaped and molded Christianity in previous generations. Sample questions among thousands are: Why do Christians worship with bread and wine? How did Christianity become fragmented into Catholics, Protestants, and other groups?
