What is LibKey Nomad?

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension provided by the library that connects users with both library-licensed and open access full text articles. LibKey Nomad is available for most major browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. When using LibKey Nomad, users are automatically directed to the best available version of an article so there is no need to search multiple places. When the full text is not available you will be provided with options to request the article through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

LibKey Nomad respects your privacy. It does not require the creation of a personal account, does not track users or hold credentials, and it is only active when on the web page of a scholarly publisher or database.

How do I use it?

Just install the browser extension for your preferred browser. Go to this link to download the extension. Once downloaded, you'll need to select Saint Mary's University of Minnesota as the institution you are affiliated with. Once you've done this, when you are searching on the library site, or on select websites, such as academic journals, Amazon, PubMed, and Wikipedia, you will see a button prompting you to access the full text. Just click the button to access the full text for easy, one-click access.
